Problem Solving in Sales Success

Have you ever wondered how you can utilize good problem solving skills when it comes to a career in sales? Being a salesperson isn’t altogether the toughest thing in the world to do, but it does require a certain amount of discipline and focus to succeed. In this article, I will list some of a salespersons’s responsibilities, as well as ways to increase your sales, and make more money.

Arrive at Work Early

Coming to work at least 30 minutes early is a good way to start the process of boosting your sales, and bringing in higher revenue each month. When you come to work early, you can get things in order, and organize yourself for the day. Once your work day begins, you will have all of your ducks in a row and be ready for the day ahead of you. Many salespeople have agreed that by arriving to work early, they increase their productivity by 50% or more.

Go Easy on the Break Times

Try to avoid taking a lot of breaks during work time. It can be a hassle calling clients, leads or cold calls, but you have to remember that the more people you connect and communicate with, the better you become at closing a sale. Give yourself one 30 minute break a day, and then increase the amount of time that you spend on break after six months or so. You not only want to work hard to bring in money for the company you work for, yourself or someone else’s, but you want to make a good living, as well. Break time doesn’t make sales, and no sales produces no income. It is important to think about avoiding too many breaks.

Devote Time to Study

You want to devote some time to study the business that you are in. To be the best that you can in your field of sales work is to study the market trends and competitors. You should learn as much as you can as to how others are producing sales, do not lie and cheat people into buying a product, this is the worst thing you could do as a sales person. Make sure you’re on top of every aspect of the business, whether it be face to face sales, phone sales, online affiliate sales, or your own small business. When a customer asks you a straight forward sales question from the sales script you’ve studied, you should know enough to improvise and close the deal. Mind mapping your notes from study, or your daily plan is a great way to easily recall information. Our minds like thinking in pictures. The curves and colorful pictures that are created when MindMapping create powerful images for your brain to remember

Be Prepared

This tip ties into the Arrive at Work Early section of this article. When you are prepared, your portfolio, pen, and notepaper is all handy. Your calculator should be handy, in the event your sales job deals with adding up figures. You need to give the potential buyer the impression that you are totally prepared, and know your stuff. I can’t imagine Donald Trump coming to a meeting saying, “Where is my pen? Oh, can I borrow a piece of paper?” Simultaneously, I’ve never seen Oprah Winfrey, who is a billion dollar saleswoman, say, “Stop rolling… I forgot my notepad!” To be successful, especially in sales, you must be prepared.

These are only a few problem solving tips to build your sales career into one of success.

Organic Food Sales

Organic food is the real essential part of any nutrition health and Atkins Diet plan. How can we buy them cheap?
Stock clearance is the reason why we have organic food sales; in fact, it is more than understandable, because by dropping the price, the retailer prevents valuable money waste. The problem with organic food is that it does not last for too long, it quickly loses freshness and decays. The factors that make organic food so healthy, are the ones responsible for quick decay: the all natural structure means that there are no preservers to make the food last. Without the use of preservatives, special packaging is the only solution to keep organic food fresh, and even so, the solution is for a very short term. Therefore, organic food sales are the right way to prevent food decay and make money.

Therefore, if you want to buy organic food at lower prices, you should keep an eye on hypermarkets or local markets and see when there are notes with organic food sales. Lots of clients choose to shop exactly at the stock clearance, because saving money is a priority. Organic food is normally a bit more expensive than non-organic products, and during the sales periods, there is usually a price balanced between these two food categories. Therefore, the resulting advantage is more than obvious. Yet, there is one trick you need to be aware of: quality status.

The items sold at organic food sales are close to their expiry date and have to be consumed right away. The products could be fresh the moment you buy them, but tomorrow, some of the quality will already be lost. Consequently, organic food sales should not encourage you to buy in bulk, on the contrary. Then, it could be a problem to order organic food online when there are sales, because the products will have lost their freshness by the moment they are delivered. Online orders are fine, only if you can have the items delivered the same day.

Consequently, organic food sales are are an event to enjoy more in supermarkets than in local markets. The explanation here is very simple: hypermarkets create stocks, while in local markets the supplies are provided daily directly from the source. You’ve got two options: buy discounted items that are no longer 100% fresh at lower prices or go for more expensive top quality. Follow your own judgment to decide which is more convenient!

Get Started Marketing On The Web

It is a known fact that almost 90 percent of affiliates earn less than hundred dollars per month. So, you cannot rely on affiliate marketing. But if you put in some extra effort, then you can increase you commissions. Before entering into this field, a lot of people are under the false assumption that affiliate marketing is basically a short-cut way of becoming rich without much effort. Actually it is not such an easy business. Do not think that you will put a couple of banners on your website and you will start profiting. A great place to start is with the tips below or the course Commission Ritual.

There are some tips to increase your affiliate commissions:

1. Build a good website

Good website means, a website that attracts the visitors’ attention. It must not be rich in graphics. It should be simple and easy to navigate. It should be easy for the visitor to find anything that he wants.

2. Do SEO or Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization is very necessary to drive steady traffic to your site. This is a very big topic. There are a variety of techniques to increase the page rank of your website. Banner exchange is a famous technique. Search engine friendly URLs is another search engine optimization technique. This is covered in the Commission Ritual review.

3. Find the Best Merchant

Pick the right merchant to start with. Don’t look at the profits offered. Look at the expertise and experience of the merchants. See their history. How many products they have launched in the markets and how many were successful. Are they good in marketing? Are they providing good service to their customers?

Find the answers of all above questions and you will find the right merchant that will give you good and constant business.

4. Increase Traffic to Your Site

Getting a lot of traffic to your site is basically the key factor in this field. You must remember that not every visitor is your buyer. Only a few of them will buy your product, so it is important to get more and more traffic to your website. Some important techniques are email campaigns, banner exchange, RSS feeds, selection of the right keywords, writing search engine friendly content on your website etc. Check out the Commission Ritual bonus for more on this.

5. Pre Sales

An important point is to read the minds of your visitors to understand what they need and then offer them the right thing at the right cost. Try to attract people with the additional things that they would like. For example, if you are selling laptops on your site, then you can publish some useful articles on how to troubleshoot laptops. This will attract some visitors. It is possible that your visitor might not make a sale in the first visit. But if he likes your articles he will come back to study your articles and it is possible that he may make a purchase after some visits. This concept of offering some useful free gifts to your visitors is called pre sales. It is very helpful in increasing your sales.

You cannot get the desired results in a few days, but it requires some time. Concentrate on how to improve your business by building a quality website and driving more and more traffic to your website. Choose the right merchant and attract the people by offering useful products and gift packages. One happy customer has the potential to bring you 10 more customer.

Do you see Apple’s Leadership Flaw in Your Company?

One of the top sales management trainers is Jon Berghoff. Jon is founder of Global Empowerment Coaching and has a history of teaching leadership, creating sales, and causing business success through ‘harmonic influence,’ which gives you control over yourself, your business, and the world in general. Jon Berghoff is speaker and bestselling author of the “Cutting Edge Sales Book.”

First it was the false rumor about Steve Job’s health… Apple’s stock nose-dived, millions of dollars out the window.

Now, Steve Jobs -for real, not a rumor – pulls out of his perennial role as keynote speaker at the high profile Macworld trade show.

Again, Apple’s stock plummeted as much as 5.5% during after-hours trading.

What does this indicate? An unfortunate reality or a symbolic reminder of what true leadership is.

While Apple may not have the issue I’m about describe, the previous scenario serves as a great wake-up call.

When a leader’s worth is so high that his lack of presense translates to instant paranoia, it says something about the kind of leadership at hand – where personality, rather than process, drive a profitable business.

I’m not saying personality isn’t important, but the order of importance is worth looking at.

I meet thousands of leaders, managers, and sales professionals each year, and I see this often: a person leads with personality and with charisma at the top of the priority list.

The difficulty?

Personality is not always duplicatable, instructable and reliable.

So what is?

Process.

In any leadership job, the manager/leader/executive should be focused on getting processes in place, before relying on personality to drive the business. Processes can be thought out, written, taught, practiced, retaught, and ultimately duplicated. Personality, often can not.

Personality can create energy, attraction, and excitement, while the processes can leave a legacy.

What do you see in your business that can be duplicated, automated, and put into a repeatable process, that will help leverage your ability as a leader?

How Can I Breakthrough My Sales Plateau Using Your Method of Farming?

One of the top small business networking coaches is an entrepeneur named Jon Berghoff. This entry is a response to a question that came in from Mike in Fredericksburg, VA, after listening to the telephone seminar, “Becoming Wealthy During Turbulent Economic Times”. To hear the teleseminar, go to www.geconnection.com/turbulance.html.

How can I use your tool of “farming” to breakthrough my current plateau of sales in my field?

“I really learned a lot from your perspective on hunting vs. farming as a way of attracting new prospects and clients. I’m really stuck though because I always have believed in the concept of giving value first, asking for business second, yet my annual sales revenue has flattened out and I can’t seem to break through to the next level. My question is, how can I use this “universal” or “spiritual” principle to really grow my sales again, not just to feel good about what I’m doing?”

Mike B. CPA, Fredericksburg, VA

ANSWER: Jon Berghoff

Mike, you are right on in searching for a way to use this spiritual principle to increase your success.

Most critical is knowing that it takes creativity, proactive effort, and old-fashioned hard work to create value for others. It can’t simply be a feeling or an attitude. The feeling, or attitude is required, but only useful when backed up with action. You might remember in the teleseminar that I mentioned the importance of behaviors, not just thinking, to improve results.

I would pose this question:

What are some ways that you could be adding value that are simple to do, that you have allowed to become easy not to do?

This is a good starting place. If this triggers anything, than put it into practicez. You might take the three areas from the call: problem solving, distributing information, and gift giving, and ask yourself; what are the easiest, fastest ways you could apply these secrets. I use the words “fast” and “easy” because most people over-think the process of farming (giving value first, asking for business second).

It might be as little as making sure you answers each phone call in a positive and uplifting way, vs. an unmonitored non-emotion-inducing approach.

It could be the difference between sending out a packet of free, applicable info to your prospects before you meet them for a sales presentation, so they are conditioned from the start to see you as an authority or expert.

Maybe it means hosting a telephone conference call for everyone in your sphere of influence, showing them 4-7 ways to save money during tax season, or the 5 most common mistakes made by others in their field.

Best Sales Presentations: How to Pre-Frame and Eliminate the Correct Objections

One of the top sales presentation instructors is a business friend named Jon Berghoff. Jon is founder of Global Empowerment Coaching and has a record of creating sales, building leadership, and causing entrepreneurial success through ‘harmonic influence,’ which gives you control over yourself, your customers, and the world in general. Jon Berghoff is speaker and bestselling author of the “Cutting Edge Sales Book.”

Here is an excerpt taken from Jon Berghoff’s website that will help you with your future sales presentations.

QUESTION: “Jon, our region has always prided ourselves on how well we “pre-frame objections” in our presentations, yet after the call, I began realizing that we can be more calculated with our preparation going into our presentations. My question is this: do you have any advice on how to make sure we are answering the correct objections, the ones that will matter to the client, being that every customer is different?”

Jon Berghoff’s REPLY:

Great question. While every person is unique, you will find that their objections will almost always fit into 3-5 basic categories. You know what those are in your market. Your job is to know which of the several objections will be the one that your next prospect is going to bring up.

First of all, do as much study as possible before any and every presentation. By making sure you enter the customers mindset first, both in your mind, and in your presentation (as discussed during the teleseminar) you are already ahead of most of other sales people.

To take it to the next level, be ready with some effective questions to extract, on your own terms and timing, the information that will tell you what their possible objections will be. Ask your prospects at the beginning of the presentation; how critical is cost, who is involved in the decision making, what do they like and dislike about their current provider, what is on their mind (confusion, concerns, fears, insecurities, etc.) that they want to to clear up before beginning?

These may not be the exact questions, but you get the idea. Put some thought into how you can figure out what is going on inside your prospect’s head and you’ll remove the objection and be way ahead of the game.

What Makes A Great Salesman?

So you want to become a better sales person as you are convinced it will do your career prospects a power of good but you are not entirely sure as to what makes a good salesman. If this sounds a bit like the predicament that you are in then this article may well provide you with the answers that you are looking for.

When attempting to sell something whether it be a cheaper calls to mobiles service, insurance, a debt management plan or a stuttering therapy product, to name just a few, then you need to do so with passion.

This is the art of any successful sales person, they should be passionate about the products or service that are selling, or at least they should sound as if they are.

How many times has somebody attempted to sell you something but have done so with absolutely no “gusto” at all? It is as if they have real belief in the product themselves. It is like the sales people who attempt to convince you to switch utilty supplier:

“Can I speak to the person who deals with your electricity bills please?”

This is there usual starting point but they say it with such a negativity and boredom. Why not start with a much more passionate and positive stance:

“Good afternoon, I am not sure if you have heard of myself, my name is John Staples (example name) and I work for business cost cutting specialists, specialising in lowering people’s electricity bills, am I seaking to the right person about this subject?”

There are not that many easy ways to make money that do not require hard work and a determination to do the right things.

Positivity, passion, belief, honesty and an ability to listen to your customers/clients are the essential characteristics of a successful salesman.

I hope this article helps its readers to further their career and to also become top rate sales people.

Downturn Marketing Strategies

The advantages far outweigh the drawbacks during a downturn when viewed from an online marketing perspective.

Every dollar spent on marketing whether online or offline give you much more during a recession if you apply your resources in the right way, like your ability to get the maximum from you publisher with your negotiating skills. If you take it positively, this is a god-sent opportunity for a marketer to get more return on your investment on marketing and advertising of your products.

Actually, businesses benefit more during a downturn provided you continue investing in marketing and advertising. This can be confirmed from various studies conducted by highly-acclaimed researchers. f you compare the statistics, you will notice that those businesses that promoted aggressively their products always gained 4% to 5% in market share when compared with their competitors who did not hike their spending on marketing/advertising during a downturn.

The key factors that you should take into account when marketing and advertising during a downturn are:

Customers: You know very well that in any business, customer is the king. It is highly recommended to provide all benefits to your customers like discounts and gifts and extra facilities like free downloads and free tools to help the customers to get more value from their online experience. This will ensure your customers will come back again and again to your business and thereby generate more sales.

Flexibility: For you to be flexible, you should be alert and oriented of your customers search behavior pattern. In other words, monitor your customers for what actually they are searching for, and then change your marketing/advertising strategies accordingly. Any rigid approach on your marketing strategy will backfire on you.

Cost-Affective Targeting: Please note that not everybody will succeed in cost-affective targeting. For any business to succeed, you should have certain key elements like well-known brand name, multiple products, targeted advertising, after-sales service, and support. These key elements are vital for any business to succeed. Any missing elements will have an adverse effect on your cost-affective targeting.

If you have studied recession or downturn long enough, you will find that this phenomenon does not last longer than 11 months or a year. Take recession positively, study it well, and apply your marketing and advertising strategies accordingly without compromising or downgrading your marketing and advertising costs. The key elements like well-known brand name, multiple products, targeted advertising, after-sales service, and support are to be incorporated into your business if you want to succeed.
